This is a topical subject which resonates locally with Catterick Garrison on our doorstep, so we are delighted that The WAGS Choir will be joining us on Thursday 16th February in the Richmond School Sixth Form Centre. The evening starts at 7.30pm and tickets are now on sale at £5 in advance from the shop, £6 on the door. We will post them out if you ring us and pay with a credit/debit card.

Tickets are now on sale in the shop, or online (click the logo). The festival runs from Friday 23 September to Sunday 2 October and features more than 34 walks and 17 book events. Highlights include Pam Ayres at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Peter Robinson with Ann Cleeves, and later in the week with Baroness Shirley Williams. We also have a Gurkha Curry Night, Murderous Maths for kids and adults alike, the latest North Country Theatre production, a Chinese cookery demo with Lorraine Clissold, and plenty more to suit all tastes.

If you haven't read Emma's book Chocolate Cake with Hitler, you really should, and if you are looking for a good holiday read, Julia Stagg's L'Auberge is a lovely portrait of life in Southern France.
